A Fine Book for the Young Artist

This is a light-hearted, profusely illustrated book on the making of fantasy art, with a nice gallery of other artist's works in the back.
It is, though, not necessarily a book for present illustrators looking to get into the fantasy market; it is really more for a young person just starting out. Artists who are further along with fundamental skills in drawing and painting would benefit more from John Howe Fantasy Art Workshop, a more in-depth and less elementary approach. But for lovers of fantasy art, either book is a pleasure to see.

USEFUL AND DELIGHTFUL BOOK TO OWN.

Not being a professional artist by any stretch of the imagination or definition, I found this work to be quite useful. I suspect that much of the information in the book is quite over my head, but I found some very useful hints and pointers in it's pages. The illustrations are great and the text quite concise and understandable. I personally use books such as this for inspiration. It is yet another good tool to add to your collection and I very much recommend it. Do keep in mind though, some may find this book way too advanced for them, others will find it way beneath their skill level. Each of us has to decide that for themselves.

This book is a journey into the world of fantasy art with Lippincott as your personal guide. A must for any would-be artist needing a boost with the know-how. Very visual with tons of illustrations that carry you from drawing through to the final coloring. Inspiring for all ages and levels.
