CHRISTIE'S Maxine Trottier is the author of many acclaimed children's books including The Tiny Kite of Eddie Wing (1996 CLA Book of the Year for Children) and Laura: A Childhood Tale of Laura Secord. Claire's Gift won the 2000 Mr. Christie's Book Award. Maxine lives in Port Stanley, Ontario. Rajka's art has been shown in international galleries for two decades. Her signature style has garnered extensive critical acclaim, and her pictures have hung in the homes of such notable art lovers as Pierre Trudeau, Karen Kain, and Oscar Peterson. Rajka lives in Toronto, Ontario.

The book and rug together make a nice addition to my 'how-to and history-of' rughooking demonstrations

Lovely story with special meaning to those of us addicted to rughooking. I was especially drawn to the book because I have the pattern for the rug with the hearts on it, pictured in the book. The book and rug together make a nice addition to my 'how-to and history-of' rughooking demonstrations.

Great story from the late 1800s for children

This book was reviewed in Rug Hooking Magazine recently. I was delighted to find a children's book about this fiber art. The story is interesting and the illustrations are truly beautiful. A few French words are used in the story.
