This story takes on two difficult subjects as they interweave in the lives of Joel Taylor and Angela Wright, whom we first meet in the previous story in this series, Concealed Attractions, the first of the�Cedar Island Tales.

Cheating VMD

I am not sure how to sum up how I felt about this book. It starts out with so much potential,but once the couple starts therapy it falls apart for me.
The husband has a one night stand with an Exgirlfriend who he seems to still be sexually hung up on. Wife finds out and punched him in the nose: BRAVO for her! They return home and struggle to stay married for 6 monthes,when the wife figures out she's pregnant.Wisely they decide to go to couples therapy to see if this marriage/family can be saved.
Once therapy started is were it fell apart for me. to sum it up,the wife was the one to blame for most of the issues in their marriage! I was stund4d that his cheating was basically brushed off by the therapist! to give a quick summary the cheating hubby was told no biggie that he betrayed his wife,because men can't help it when they are sexually attracted to another woman,and cheat! He didn't mean to so she should forgive him.WHAT?!!! I couldn't believe this is what the writer did to the story!The story never delved into why he cheated,etc and to be honest he didn't do much to be forgiven. so as a reader I have no faith that he won't cheat again.

This book was very thought-provoking and truthful. Kate Vale did an excellent job of expressing what a lot of couples go through in their married lives. She handled the topic very well! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and look forward to reading the next in the series! Great job Kate!

ATTENTION PUDDING 1950

This book got on my nerves!!! I believe that many men cheat on their wives. And for some reason that I cannot comprehend, they expect their wives to just get over it...in the blink of an eye!!! This H was real wrong, and to invite his wife to the scene of the crime (so to speak), knowing that he had fresh open wounds on his back left there by the OW.....well I think on some level he wanted to be caught. She gave him a few significant physical blows and of course was very angry, then appeared to be getting over it. Then she began to beat him up by throwing the woman up at him over, and over, and over, AND OVER AGAIN, until I felt she should just go ahead and beat him up some more or find the woman and beat her up. This book got interesting when the therapists were called. They saved this book. Mostly I want to say that the signs and symptoms for chronic depression as given by this author is totally accurate. This author enables you by reading this very well written book, to use this info to assist you to know if this is happening to someone you love. I have suffered from this illness for over 40 years and I know this information to be accurate.
