About the Author
Steve Cunha is a professor of geography at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. He is also the director of the California Geographic Alliance and the National Geographic Bee Coordinator for the state of California. He has taught middle school and high school science, community college geography, and outdoor recreation. He served ten seasons as a national park ranger in Alaska and in California's Yosemite National Park. He lives in Arcata, California, with his wife and three children.

You NEED to go through these books if you are looking to be competitive in the National Geographic Bee. The actual bee questions are very similar - this will give newbies an idea of how and what to study. My son has been to our state bee twice- first as a 4th grader and last year as a fifth grader. He made it to the finals as a fourth grader and he used these and Geography Demystified book to study. He was very comfortable with the questions even though he had never been there. - Now I am not saying they are the same questions- because they are not, but they are at the same level and give you an idea of what kind of knowledge they are looking for!
